Survey on professional wellbeing and termination of pregnancy services

A confidential online questionnaire

We are looking to hear from GPs, Primary Care Women’s Health Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, Obstetricians/Gynaecologists, Anaesthesiologists, and Trainees in these specialties.

Survey questions and format

The survey questions cover three topics:

  • reasons for participation, or not, in termination of pregnancy services
  • professional experiences with termination of pregnancy services
  • opportunities for better supporting healthcare professionals in their role

The questionnaire will take approximately 10-20 minutes and includes tick box questions and open questions for healthcare professionals to share their views and experiences.

We are seeking participants from a range of professions typically involved in the provision or facilitation of abortion care, including GPs, Primary Care Women’s Health Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, Obstetricians/Gynaecologists, Anaesthesiologists, and Trainees in these specialties. We are looking to hear from individuals based in general practices and hospitals across Ireland, including in urban, rural, and remote areas.

Fully confidential, on a voluntary basis

The questionnaire is strictly confidential. No identifiable data will be collected and anything that may be identifiable will be removed before publication of the findings.

Completion of the questionnaire is entirely voluntary. In the open questions, you are free to share only what you are comfortable with. You may decide not to submit your answers: they will be deleted and will not be included in the research data.
